Elk coloring pages
Elk coloring pages give kids a fun way to discover one of the most well-known animals of North America. Elk are among the largest members of the deer family and can stand over six feet tall at the shoulder, which makes them truly impressive to see.
In the fall, male elk grow large, branching antlers. They shed them each winter and grow new ones again in spring. Their thick brown coats help them stay warm in colder climates. With long legs made for moving through snow and wet ground, elk can easily search for food like grasses, bark, and twigs.
Elk have a short neck, tall shoulders, long ears, and a distinctive nose shape. They also have a flap of skin under their throat called a “bell.” While they are usually calm plant-eaters, elk can protect themselves with strong kicks if they feel unsafe.
On this page, you’ll find a collection of elk coloring pages that kids can enjoy. You can download these pages and print them for free whenever it’s time to start coloring.
