Walrus coloring pages give kids a chance to learn about one of the largest animals living in the Arctic. These huge marine mammals split their time between the icy water and resting on ice floes. In the water, walruses swim, dive, and search for food like fish and shellfish. When they gather in large groups on the ice, they can be very noisy—making deep roars and groans that can be heard from far away. Baby walruses are especially chatty!
Walruses are perfectly built for the cold. A thick layer of fat under their skin keeps them warm, even while swimming in freezing water. Their bodies are big and wrinkled, and their long white tusks make them instantly recognizable. Male walruses can grow tusks that reach up to three feet in length. On land, they move clumsily on their flippers, but in the water, those same flippers make them graceful swimmers. While their eyesight isn’t great, their sense of smell is excellent.
For coloring, kids can use different shades of brown, along with grays or even a little pink to capture their unique look. Choose your favorite walrus coloring pages and print them for free.
